Sonja H. Parham
ABOUT THE PASTOR
Sonja Parham is a Word of Faith preacher and teacher of the Gospel. Her teachings and preaching put emphasis on Grace (God’s unconditional love and favor). Sonja believes that the revelation of Grace empowers change in the lives of people.
In her preaching and teaching you will learn as a born-again believer that Jesus has done everything that you will ever need to include healing, deliverance, soundness, wholeness, and prosperity. Jesus has finished the work by his grace (favor) and all you have to do is believe and receive through faith.
Sonja also believes that a born again believer must know their identity in Christ and their covenant with God and how to access the covenant to get results in their everyday circumstances. She believes that salvation is not just forgiveness of sins to go to heaven but experiencing heaven while here on the earth in our everyday lives and that Christianity is not just a religion but an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
Sonja understands that every born again believer has a God-given destiny (plan) for their lives and that the Holy Spirit leads us to that destiny through a relationship with Him. Charis Word of Faith is committed to assisting in helping its members to discover and follow that plan and to equip each member with the necessary revelation and insight of God’s word to empower them to reach their God-ordained destiny. She understands that when we walk in our God-given assignment people are blessed and God gets all the Glory.
Introducing Jesus to a dying world and making Jesus attractive to the lost through love, friendship and the spreading of the good news (gospel) in an effort to lead them out the Kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of God’s son is her first priority.
Sonja hosts various healing and faith seminars and she is the founder of Charis Word of Faith Church and Sonja Parham Ministries.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Virginia State University and Certificates from Oral Roberts University "School of The Sprint."
She is an author and has published "Healing from a Grace Perspective” that is distributed from major outlets worldwide.
Sonja is married to Donald and has five children and six grandchildren.

THE COMMUNION FOR HEALING
Here is how you take the communion for healing:
Say: Jesus I recognize the bread and the drink as a symbol of your broken body and shed blood for me.
Hold the bread in your hand and say: Thank you Jesus for your broken body. Thank you for bearing my symptoms and sicknesses at the cross so that I may have your health and wholeness.
I declare by your stripes, by the beating you bore, by the lashes which fell on your back I am completely healed. I believe and I receive your resurrection life in my body right now for with your stripes I am healed. I live to 120 years in Jesus name.
(Eat the bread)
Take the cup and hold in your hand and say: Thank you Jesus for your blood that has washed me whiter than snow.
Your blood has brought me forgiveness and made me righteous forever and as I drink I celebrate and partake of the inheritance of the righteous which includes preservation, healing, wholeness and all your blessings in Jesus name.
(Drink the cup)
Say aloud: Thank you Jesus that I am healed, I love you because you first loved me.

We are Charis Word of Faith Church
WHO WE ARE
We are Jesus Christ ambassadors spreading the good news of the Gospel of Grace! Through Jesus Christ everything has been made available for the born again believer by Grace (God's undeserved favor). As we release faith for what Grace has made available we will see the power of the Word of God come to past in our lives.
Our Vision: To teach and preach the uncompromising Word of Faith and to be led by The Holy Spirit with miracles, signs and wonders. We are a supernatural church. A church of the Word and The Spirit.
Our Mission: Save the lost and bring them into the Kingdom of God, lay hands on the sick and they shall recover, make disciples to advance the Kingdom of God with the message of grace and faith to impact the community and the world with the love of God.
WHAT WE BELIEVE AND TEACH
Charis Word of Faith Church believes in and teaches the following as
fundamental and foundational truths.
The Scriptures
The Bible is the inspired Word of God-the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as the Holy Spirit moved them. (2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1: 23-25, Hebrews 4:12)
The New Covenant, as recorded in the New Testament, is accepted as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine.
The Godhead
Our God is one, but manifest in three Persons-the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All are co-equal and eternal. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Philippians 2:6, 1 John 5:7)
God the Father is greater than all, and the Sender of the Word, the Son. (John 1:4. 14:28, NS 16:28)
Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh, and has existed with the Father from the beginning. (John1:1, 1:14 NS 1:18)
The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son and empowers the church for ministry. (John 14:16 and 15:26)
Man’s Origin, Fall, and Redemption
Man is a created being, made in the likeness and the image of God. Through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. The Bible says “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God,” and “There is none righteous, no not one.” (Genesis 1:26 and 3:1-7, Romans 3:10, 23)
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the works fo the devil. He gave His life and shed His Blood to redeem and restore man back to God. (Romans 5:14; 1 John 3:8)
Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the Law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God. (Ephesians 2:8-10; James 2:18’ Titus 3:5-7)
Eternal Life and the New Birth
Man’s only hope of redemption is accepting the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who shed His Blood (gave His life) to pay the price for sin.
On the cross Jesus took our sins on Himself, providing salvation for all mankind.
Jesus also by the stripes He took on Himself, bore the punishment for sickness and disease, providing healing for all mankind; Jesus became poor, defeating poverty and lack, that we might be made rich (experience abundance). By being a curse, Jesus redeemed us from the curse so that we could live in the blessing of God. (Psalm 103:3; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24; Galatians 3: 13-14; II Corinthians 8:9)
The first step towards salvation is recognizing that one is lost and needs a savior. Salvation comes by believing in the heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confessing with the mouth Jesus as Lord. (II Corinthians 7:10; Romans 10:8-10)
The inward evidence of salvation to the believer is the direct witness of the spirit. (Romans 8:16)
Outward evidence of salvation to others is a life of holiness and love (John 13:35; 1 John 3:23)
Baptism in the Holy Spirit
The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift from God as promised by Jesus Christ to all believers and is received subsequent to the New Birth.
The Baptism in the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance.
With this experience comes the endowment of power for life and service, and the bestowing of gifts for work of the ministry.
Body of Christ
The Church is the Body of Christ and each believer is an integral part. (Ephesians 1:22 and 2: 19-22)
Each believer has been given gifts and is called to a specific place in the Body of Christ by God. (1 Corinthians 12:7 and 12:18)
Water Baptism
Baptism in water is by immersion, a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. This ordinance is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12; Acts 8:36-39)
The Lord’s Supper (Communion)
The celebration of the Lord’s Supper by eating of the bread (symbol of the Lord’s Body) and drinking of the cup (Symbol of the Lord’s Blood) in remembrance of Him.
Prosperity in Every Area of Life
Spiritual (John 3:3; 11 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 5:22)
Mental (II Timothy 1:7; Romans 8:6 and 12:2)
Physical (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24)
Financial (III John 2; Malachi 3:10-11; II Corinthians 9:6-12)
Social (Proverbs 3:4)
Jesus is Coming Again
Jesus will return again to gather His saints to Heaven. (Acts 1:11; Thessalonians 4:16-17)
Hell and Eternal Retribution
Those who die physically in their sins, without accepting Jesus Christ, are hopelessly and eternally lost, separated from God, and will burn in the lake of fire. (Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 19:20)
Millennial Reign of Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ will return with His saints from Heaven to rule and reign for one thousand years on earth as the Scriptures promised. (Romans 11:25, 27; II Thessalonians 1:7; Revelation 19:11-16 and 20:1-7)
There will be a new heaven and a new earth. (Revelation 21)
